In the woods...

Well... its been a little while since I last updated anything... my only defense is that we have been busy. I traveled just under 10,000 miles these past two weeks. It all began with a trip home to Texas for mother's day and my brothers graduation. I drove back and then a couple days later we were on a plane to NC for Lydia and Erik's wedding.

We got to stay in some fantastic cabins. The view in the area was spectacular.
All in all... we had a very relaxing and wonderful time. It made is sad to have to leave.

Smokey Mountains... I wonder why they named them that?

View from Lyds porch

P was playing around out on the back porch and took this amazing snapshot... They have a great home... and this is the view of the Smokey Mountains from their back porch. It's enough to make a guy want to give up the city and move to the woods...

Mothers Day.

Mothers Day '05.

I flew home to Texas for the weekend. My baby brother was graduating from college that weekend also. It was very good to be home again.

Jim and I drove back from Texas to San Diego with a carload of stuff... mostly gifts left behind from Christmas and wedding gifts, as well as a large baby bed and assorted other boxes of junk from years gone past that I had neglected in my parents attic for so long.

Hawaiian Shirt Saturday

It is time to reinstitute a tradition: Hawaiian Shirt Saturdays.
With Jimmy Buffet playing on the stereo... we commenced to toast the coming summer and welcome the warmer days ahead.

It's tough living with all of this sunshine... I suppose we'll manage somehow.

Grillin'

We grilled out all weekend long... good times, good friends, great food and great weather. That's what it's all about.

P. and H. made k-bobs... some vegi... and some with lots of meat. Man, they were sooo good!
I cooked some dogs, sausages and ran the grille most of the day.

Later that night, I threw the steaks on that had been marinating since the early morning...
That was Saturday...

Sunday [today] we lounged by the pool and then came back and fired up the grille again... and cooked hamburgers and more vegi-k-bobs... I'm soooo sleepy now.

*yawn*

Magic cooler

We had a few drinks iced down...
